There's one more topic that must be brought to light. Since I can not expect both people who read this blog to have kept up to date with the game (and who could blame them), I must therefore first of all introduce FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Version 2.0.
I will keep this short.
In the recent announcement, Square-Enix has stated that they will start taking monthly subscription fees for playing the game as of December 2011. When 2.0 is to be released in the 3rd quarter of 2012, the free trial period will be re-implemented.
The important features 2.0 will introduce
1) Re-hauled server structure
2) New graphics engine
3) Improved areas to replace the old zones.
So, now that everyone knows what's up I can proceed to talk about more interesting things in my next post.

(Un)Necessary background stuff
In this blog I talk and discuss Final Fantasy XIV. If you've followed the game up until it's release last year it'd be easy to ask: Why bother, you random person on the internets?
Don't worry, we'll get to that.
As for the actual content of the blog, I'll mostly report news and random tidbits I've gathered around the interwebs (as well as the current status quo) and occasionally comment on stuff in-game as well(!). Of course, being the MMO-SE-XIV-RPG-expert random nobody that I am, I will also make sure that everyone gets to hear what I think about all of this. As we all know, opinions are like assholes and everyone has one! I will, however, do my best to provide sound and reasonable arguments to go with mine.
As anyone currently playing the game already probably knows, due to having no imagination of my own I shamelessly stole my blog's name from one of the recently implemented quests in the game. I feel that said quest represents the new development philosophy (I will come back to that later) quite well, not to mention the name is mildly humorous. I also figured I should follow in the footsteps of one of the well-known FFXI communities Killing Ifrit and continue the tradition of attempting to beat Ifrit to a pulp.
Anyhow, isn't the background bad-ass?
